The scene
A garden wedding on a lawn in the hills. One side of the lawn is for the ceremony: the couple walk a 7 m aisle to the arbour, with guests seated either side. Afterwards everyone moves to the dinner area on the other side, where four round tables stand in the open air; the buffet is on a long table with the bar beside it. After dark the garden lights come on.
When it helps
- The couple or the wedding planner needs to confirm with the venue that it all fits.
- You need to tell the styling, catering and sound suppliers where each of them goes.
- You are estimating chairs and round tables.
What’s already laid out
- A 3 × 2.4 m ceremony arbour and a 7 m aisle with guest chairs on both sides.
- An open-air dinner area: four 1.5 m round tables, eight seats each.
- One buffet table and one bar.
- Trees, planters and garden lights round the edge of the lawn.
- Two cable runs: the garden lighting circuit and a microphone for the ceremony.
- Plus 15 figures for scale and circulation. If you don’t need them, delete them all in one go.
Making it yours
- Press “Start from this one”. The template opens in the editor as your own drawing; whatever you change, the original template stays as it was.
- For different guest numbers, chairs and tables come in sets — copy or delete them.
- Table diameter and seats per table are adjustable.
- Change the lawn size in the Space panel.
- For anything missing, press Components at the bottom: search by name and click to place it. Select what you don’t need and press Delete.
- When the layout is right, press Download at the top right to save it as an image, then drop it into a deck or send it as it is.
What to settle first
- Set the ceremony area first: the arbour at the far end, the aisle running out from it.
- Then the dinner area, leaving room between the tables for serving.
- Put the bar where both areas can reach it.
- Planting and lights last, then run the power.
What you end up with
- A layout drawing
- Download it as a PNG or JPG, at a resolution that holds up in a deck or a proposal.
- An object list
- The name and quantity of everything on the drawing. Change the drawing and the list changes with it.
- A length for every cable
- Power and signal runs have a length as soon as they are drawn. Order from those numbers.
- A link to send
- Once you sign in, the drawing can become a link that opens in any browser.
